PSG spent 8 million euros to sign Dro from La Masia academy.

Transfer tensions between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain continue to escalate with a new development. The Catalan club is closely monitoring David Boly, the 17-year-old talent from the PSG academy, as the player has yet to agree to a contract extension.

According to Le Parisien , Boly has rejected all recent offers for a new contract from PSG. His current contract runs until 2027, when he turns 18. This leaves open the possibility of the player leaving as a free agent if the two sides cannot reach an agreement.

Barcelona are reportedly aware of the situation and have begun approaching the player. The Camp Nou club wants to reach an agreement quickly, thereby avoiding a significant transfer fee. If successful, this would be a strategic move and a direct response to the Dro deal in January.

At the time, PSG spent 8 million euros to sign Dro from La Masia, 2 million euros more than his release clause. The deal displeased Barcelona and left many lingering issues within the club.

With Boly, PSG sees him as a key player for the future. The right-back has been promoted to train with the first team under coach Luis Enrique. He even made his debut in a French Cup match against Vendée Fontenay.

However, injuries have prevented Boly from accumulating more playing time in the first team. PSG's initial plan was to bring the player into the starting lineup from next season, but the current contract situation is making things complicated.

At the youth level, Boly has shown remarkable superiority. He is one of the most outstanding players in the PSG academy and is preparing to participate in the Gambardella Cup final on May 22nd at the Stade de France. This is seen as a great opportunity for him to prove his abilities to the European scouting network.

Since he is not yet old enough to sign a professional contract, Boly's future still largely depends on future decisions. If he leaves PSG this summer, the deal will require mutual agreement between the two clubs, but the expected compensation fee is not high.

PSG understands the risks. If they don't extend the contract soon, they could lose the player for free in 2027. Meanwhile, Barcelona is patiently waiting for the right opportunity.

A silent battle between two European giants has been reignited, and this time, Barca has the opportunity to take the initiative.
