Authorities read out the decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Ho Viet Dung.

Earlier, at around 5 PM on April 1, 2025, Mr. Dang Ngoc H. rode his motorbike to the park along the Perfume River on Le Duan Street to exercise. At that time, Mr. H. placed a bag containing 52.5 million VND in the motorbike's storage compartment.

Upon noticing the motorbike was unattended, at approximately 6 PM that same day, Dung broke into the motorbike's storage compartment and stole the money. Upon discovering the theft, Mr. H reported the incident to the Thuan Hoa Ward Police.

Through investigation, the Thuan Hoa Ward Police quickly clarified the theft committed by Ho Viet Dung. They also recovered 2.5 million VND from Dung's person and 50 million VND from his bedroom cupboard. The investigating agency is currently consolidating the case file to handle the matter according to the law.

To prevent property theft, the police recommend that citizens be highly vigilant against crime and absolutely not leave valuable items in their vehicle's trunk. They should also strengthen measures to protect their property at home and in public places. In the event of a theft, citizens should promptly report it to the nearest police station for investigation.
