At the ceremony, the leaders of the Hue City Military Command rang the bell at the Peace Bell Tower to pray for national peace and prosperity, and also laid wreaths and successively offered incense before the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs.
In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, officers and soldiers observed a minute of silence to commemorate the immense contributions of the heroic martyrs, the outstanding sons and daughters from all over the country who selflessly shed their blood and bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, reunification of the Fatherland, and the happiness of the people.
Before the spirits of the heroic martyrs, the officers and soldiers of the city's armed forces pledged to continue striving to study, train, and improve their skills and combat readiness, always upholding the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in peacetime, regardless of sacrifice and hardship, determined to excellently fulfill all tasks entrusted by the Party, the Army, and the people, building an increasingly regular, elite, and modern armed force, excellently completing all assigned tasks, contributing to building a more civilized, prosperous, and beautiful Hue city. After a moment of silence, the officers and soldiers went to each grave to light incense and pay respects to the heroic martyrs with deep reverence and gratitude.
Earlier that morning, the leaders of the Hue City Military Command also held a ceremony to offer incense and flowers in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs of all periods at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Room of the Hue City Military Command.
