On November 2nd, the Thu Duc City Police arrested Ho Thi Ngoc Hoa (67 years old), Nguyen Thi Ha (58 years old), Tran Trung Hieu Hoa, Cao Van Giau, and Nguyen Thanh Hoang for investigation into the crime of fraud and appropriation of property.

According to the investigation, on the morning of July 18th, the aforementioned group roamed around Thu Duc City and surrounding areas looking for women carrying valuables, with the intention of approaching and defrauding them.

Upon reaching Provincial Road 43 (Binh Chieu Ward), the group noticed that Ms. DTMH was wearing gold jewelry.

The group assigned Hoa to approach Ms. H. and fabricate a story about traveling from An Giang to Ho Chi Minh City to deliver a large quantity of shampoo, but getting lost and needing Ms. H.'s help. At the same time, Ha approached from a distance, struck up a conversation, and befriended Ms. H.

Hoa pretended to offer Ha 10 bottles of shampoo if she would guide them, while simultaneously drawing Ms. H. into a situation orchestrated by the group.

Seeing that the victim had fallen into the trap, the group had Hoa pose as a shampoo buyer and wait on Street No. 3 (Tam Binh Ward).

Ms. H. was asked by this group to drive a motorbike carrying Ha, guiding Hoa to where Hoa was waiting to deliver the shampoo.

Next, Hoa pretended to have two diamonds and asked the victim to help her find a buyer, promising a commission if the sale went through. The group also had someone stage a scene where they agreed to buy the diamonds for 3.4 taels of gold.

Before handing the diamond to the victim H. and her accomplice Ha to sell, Hoa demanded that the victim leave collateral. Ha immediately gave Hoa a fake gold ring that she had prepared beforehand. Seeing this, Ms. H. also left a gold bracelet as collateral. After successfully swindling the victim out of her possessions, the group quickly fled.

Upon receiving the report, the Thu Duc City Police's investigative teams promptly launched an investigation and apprehended Hoa, Hoa, Ha, Giau, and Hoang.

Expanding the investigation, the police determined that this was a professional scam group, employing well-planned and coordinated tactics and schemes. The majority of their victims were women wearing a lot of jewelry.

At the police station, the group confessed to having committed many similar crimes in Ho Chi Minh City. To assist with the investigation, the Thu Duc City Police Department is requesting that anyone who has been a victim of this group contact the Criminal Investigation Team of the Thu Duc City Police Department to provide information and report the incident.
