( Bqp.vn ) - On the morning of November 29, the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army held the closing ceremony of the 10th Olympic Competition in Marxist-Leninist Sciences, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and Political-Social Awareness in Military Schools, 2024. Colonel Tong Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department (General Political Department), attended and delivered the closing remarks.

Attending the closing ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Student Association; and representatives of leaders and commanders from a number of agencies, units, academies, and schools inside and outside the Army.
The 10th Olympic Competition in Marxist-Leninist Sciences, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and Socio-Political Awareness in Military Schools, held in 2024, saw the participation of 18 teams with 108 contestants selected from 7 academies, 10 officer schools, and 1 university in the military. The competition was organized meticulously, thoughtfully, and seriously; effectively promoting collective intelligence, creativity, and coordination among agencies and units throughout the preparation and execution of the competition. All contestants were outstanding students who had made significant efforts in reviewing their knowledge and choosing appropriate methods to answer each question. Through six competition rounds (including: team member competency assessment, self-introduction, answering mandatory essay questions, answering multiple-choice questions, public speaking, and a crossword puzzle), the teams demonstrated a high level of theoretical understanding and socio-political knowledge, with comprehensive, in-depth theoretical knowledge and a logical structure. In his closing remarks, Colonel Tong Van Thanh commended and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the participating teams; he also requested that Party committees, commanders, political agencies, and military academies and schools direct the development of a strong team of lecturers and teachers in social sciences and humanities within military academies and schools, both in terms of quantity and quality; and regularly focus on building strong Party organizations and a team of leading cadres in teaching departments, subject groups, and educational management personnel in all aspects. He urged them to promote the positive and creative spirit of the teaching staff in innovating and improving the quality and effectiveness of social science and humanities education to meet the development needs of the country and the military.
Colonel Tong Van Thanh also urged the trainees to actively study, train, and work, promoting the movement to study Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, and creatively applying them to all areas of work, ensuring that upon graduation they become outstanding officers and professional staff in the Army, possessing firm political convictions, sharp theoretical thinking and practical organizational skills; contributing to building exemplary, clean, and strong Party organizations; and exemplary, comprehensively strong units, successfully completing all assigned tasks.
Colonel Tong Van Thanh presented awards to the teams that won first, second, and third place at the competition.
Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet presented Certificates of Merit to individuals who achieved outstanding results at the competition.
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced the results and awarded prizes to the teams with outstanding achievements in the competition, including: the Logistics Academy winning first prize; the Army Officer School 1 and the Military Science Academy winning second prize; and the Army Officer School 2, the Military Medical Academy, and the Border Guard Academy winning third prize. The Organizing Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit to 12 teams that won the Encouragement Prize; 6 individuals who excelled in the public speaking competition; and 2 collectives and 5 individuals who excelled in organizing and ensuring the smooth running of the competition.
