It will no longer be just a dreamy “mountain town”, with “winter afternoons all year round” that soothe travelers. Gia Lai , almost immediately after the merger, is standing before an open door to the future, according to the encouraging news from the official visit to Korea of General Secretary To Lam.

Within the framework of General Secretary To Lam's State visit to Korea, on August 12, the Vietnam - Korea Economic Forum took place in Seoul. At the forum, the Gia Lai Investment Promotion Delegation led by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang made a strong impression on Korean partners about the open prospects for potential capital flows. Accordingly, a series of strategic cooperation agreements in many fields were signed and ready for implementation.

Specifically, Phu My Investment Group Joint Stock Company and Eric C&C Company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation in developing automatic ports, smart logistics solutions and digital infrastructure serving Phu My port. At the same time, Viet Phuc Limited Company and its partner Midas Holding.Co signed an MOU on cooperation in developing fruit preservation systems, building agricultural processing facilities, cold logistics chains and expanding comprehensive cooperation in the agricultural value chain.

Thus, according to the assessment of many economic analysts, Gia Lai is ready to "take off", aiming at the position of an international logistics center. This has the starting point that after the merger, Gia Lai province not only maintains its traditional strengths - derived from the characteristics of the terrain and climate of the highlands, but also owns Phu My port - a deep-water port of type I, capable of receiving ships with a capacity of up to 150 thousand tons. Phu My port is expected to play a core role in promoting the formation of an industrial urban area - seaport in the Central Highlands region.

According to the plan, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has approved the investment policy and selected an investor to implement the Phu My Port project - phase 1, with a total capital of more than 6,000 billion VND. The project will be implemented in Phu My Dong commune, with an expected scale of about 205 hectares (including 60 hectares of land and 145 hectares of water surface). According to the plan, the port is expected to start construction in September 2026, and be accepted, handed over and put into operation in October 2028.

Not only that, through a number of working sessions, Gia Lai province also expressed its determination to move towards new industries, associated with sustainable development trends such as renewable energy and smart cities.

And of course, Gia Lai is still Gia Lai, with tourism potential that has become much richer when "forest and sea meet", thanks to the unique combination of natural and cultural resources, both bearing the mark of the Truong Son mountain range and the immense South Central Coast.

Kon Ha Nung Plateau World Biosphere Reserve, Central Highlands Gong Culture Space, or the blue sea and white sand with tourist attractions such as Ky Co, Eo Gio, Ghenh Rang..., or the traditional martial arts performances of Binh Dinh, then the Tay Son Tam Kiet festival, and the ancient Cham Pa relics covered with moss and thousands of years of history, not to mention the unique culinary experiences, are all valuable assets for this land to grow rich and strong.

The last time I had the chance to come back, what could be more interesting than taking a motorbike trip, to fully enjoy "one journey, two ecosystems", starting from Quy Nhon beach, and ending with a jar of rice wine next to a flickering fire in a cold, foggy night, at the foot of Chu Dang Ya mountain?.
