On the evening of November 4th ( Hanoi time), Beckham was finally knighted by King Charles, ending a wait of more than 10 years. The award ceremony took place at Windsor Castle, witnessed by his wife Victoria and the parents of the English football legend.
Like any other knight, during the ceremony, Beckham knelt and the king gently touched his sword to his shoulder to officially knight him. The Manchester United and England legend received the honor for his outstanding contributions to sport and charitable activities.
Beckham was first nominated for a knighthood in 2011 after his crucial role in helping London host the 2012 Olympics, but it was delayed due to his involvement in a tax evasion scandal along with several other stars. After retiring from playing in 2013 and resolving his financial issues, the door to this honor opened for him.
Beyond his impressive playing career, Beckham is also renowned for his philanthropic activities. He is an ambassador for The King's Foundation, which focuses on creating sustainable communities and contributing to education and environmental protection programs. Beckham has also been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for the past 20 years.
The Beckham family currently possesses an estimated combined net worth of around £500 million.
