Beckham receives knighthood

David Beckham's wife now holds the title Lady Victoria Beckham after her husband was knighted for his contributions to sports and charity.

On the evening of November 4 ( Hanoi time), Beckham was finally knighted by King Charles, ending a journey of waiting that lasted more than 10 years. The award ceremony took place at Windsor Castle, witnessed by his wife Victoria and the English football legend's parents.

Like all knights, Beckham knelt down during the ceremony and the king gently touched his shoulder with a sword to officially knight him. The Manchester United and England legend received the honor for his outstanding contributions to sports and charity.

Beckham was first nominated for a knighthood in 2011 after his key role in helping London host the 2012 Olympics, but was delayed by his involvement in a tax avoidance scandal with other stars. After retiring from football in 2013 and resolving his financial problems, the door to the honor opened for him.

In addition to his impressive playing career, Beckham is also known for his charitable activities.
