An unexpected destination for Jack Grealish.

Newcastle are planning to "rescue" Jack Grealish from his dark period at Man City on a loan deal.

Grealish could move to Newcastle this summer.

The North East club is very interested in Grealish as the former Aston Villa star is no longer in Pep Guardiola's plans at Etihad. The £100 million player was even left out of Man City's squad for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, a sign that his chances under Pep are over.

Manager Eddie Howe is ready to push ahead with the deal if Man City agree to let Grealish leave on loan. Newcastle have even more reason to act if a team inquires about buying Anthony Gordon this summer.

However, Man City may be forced to "partially finance" the deal by paying part of Grealish's salary to secure a new club. The Etihad Stadium side are willing to take a £60 million loss, almost two-thirds of their record investment in Grealish, to release him from their squad.

In the 2024/25 season, Grealish only scored one goal and provided one assist in the Premier League. He was excluded from Pep's long-term plans and there was no way back. Before Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne also experienced being left out of the starting lineup by Pep, while Kyle Walker and John Stones are also likely to leave Etihad.
