People magazine reported yesterday that a woman named Rubi Verduzco (29 years old) in the US state of Oklahoma was arrested on December 24 for allegedly abandoning a child at the Seminole Hard Rock hotel and casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Police said they were called to the Seminole Hard Rock on Christmas Eve and "found an infant wearing a dirty diaper outside the room." At that time, a hotel employee told police that three men left the child at the front desk and left. The child was said to have been alone for about 30 minutes before police arrived.
Police determined that Verduzco arrived about 15 minutes later, alleging she "got into a fight with the 'father of the child,' and left the child with some unidentified friends she could not name." The child was then turned over to the Florida Department of Children and Families.
