According to the latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Typhoon Yinxing is currently active in the sea northeast of Luzon Island (Philippines).
Forecasts indicate that on November 8th, Typhoon Yinxing will enter the East Sea with an intensity of level 13, gusting to level 16. Simultaneously, the central region of Vietnam has experienced heavy to very heavy rainfall in recent days.
To proactively respond to the developments of the storm and heavy rain, on the evening of November 6th, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep signed and issued a directive requesting ministries, sectors, and the Chairmen of the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Binh Thuan to focus on implementing response measures.
The main tasks in the coming days are to closely monitor the storm's development; manage vessels at sea; organize the counting of ships and boats; and inform owners of vessels operating at sea about the storm's location, direction of movement, and development so that they can proactively take precautions, evacuate, or avoid moving into dangerous areas.
For provinces in the Central region, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requests that they urgently address the consequences of the recent floods and heavy rains. They should inspect, review, and proactively evacuate people in areas at risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides to safe locations.
In addition, ministries and agencies, in coordination with provinces and cities, will inspect measures to ensure the safety of water reservoirs and downstream areas; proactively operate reservoirs to ensure flood-receiving capacity as regulated and be ready to handle any potential situations. At the same time, they will have forces and equipment ready for rescue operations when needed.
