On June 15th, the Cá Chép bookstore at 211-213 Võ Văn Tần (Bàn Cờ Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) officially welcomed its last customers. After 13 years, this is the final physical location of this bookstore chain. The company stated that the reason for closing is to change its business model. |

Bao Ngoc (25 years old), a customer who had just returned from Denmark three days ago, also took the time to visit the bookstore. She shared that she learned about Ca Chep's closure while she was abroad, so she decided to visit as soon as she returned to Vietnam to rediscover the space that was familiar to her during her school days. |

According to observations, many readers started arriving at the Cá Chép bookstore around 2 PM. As the afternoon progressed, the number of people flocking to the Võ Văn Tần branch increased significantly. To move around, many had to squeeze through narrow aisles between the bookshelves and the lines of people patiently waiting to pay. |

Mr. Tran Tien Hung, the store manager who has worked at the bookstore since 2015, expressed his regret as he and his staff packed up the shelves. He shared: "I felt very reluctant to leave when I met the customers. Many said they knew me from the Minh Khai branch and then followed me here, and they asked about my future plans." |

Mr. Hung said that in the final days of operation, orders worth tens of millions of dong were not uncommon. According to him, due to the deep price reductions and special promotions for book combos, many readers were willing to spend generously to own these valuable book sets. |

These days, the Cá Chép bookstore is bustling with activity as it prepares to close. Cardboard boxes are piled high in the aisles, and staff are constantly sorting and packing books. Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hang Giang, the bookstore's director – who has directly managed and been closely associated with this space – couldn't hide her emotion witnessing the final moments of this space dedicated to book lovers. |

Looking back on the bookstore's journey, she shared: "Closing this chapter will undoubtedly leave behind many fond memories, along with regrets and feelings of nostalgia from readers and those who have accompanied Cá Chép throughout this time." |

She also stated that the company is preparing a new space on this very plot of land. "The goal remains to maintain high aesthetic standards and a beautiful, valuable space that is close to readers," the Deputy Director of Dong A shared. The new spaces will continue to inherit the familiar warmth and sophistication to serve book lovers. |

Cá Chép Bookstore, a subsidiary of Dai Nam Book and Calendar Company Limited (Dong A), officially launched its first location on Vo Van Tan Street in December 2013. It is one of the pioneering establishments pursuing an artistic bookstore model, combining reading culture, experiential spaces, and a coffee shop on the upper floor. |
