Bo Trach: Attractive Son River grass carp competition

(QBĐT) - As part of a series of activities to celebrate the anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, on the afternoon of April 28, in Phong Nha town, the People's Committee of Bo Trach district organized a Son River grass carp competition.

The contest includes 3 contents: Banana cutting contest to make fish food; big and beautiful fish contest; fish cooking contest.

In the banana cutting competition for fish feed, teams from Hung Trach, Lien Trach and Phong Nha town participated. Each team had 3 athletes competing to cut bananas within 10 minutes. As a result, Phong Nha town team won first prize, Hung Trach commune team won second prize and Lien Trach team won third prize.

In the big and beautiful grass carp competition, 5 teams from 5 residential groups in Phong Nha town will compete. Each team will choose a big, beautiful, live, healthy fish and put it in a glass tank. The Organizing Committee will weigh and score the fish. The winning team will be the team with a bright, healthy fish, without any deformities or deformities, with the tail, back, and belly fins not torn or worn; balanced between the 3 parts of the head, body, and tail; and with the highest total score.

As a result, first prize went to Xuan Tien residential group team, second prize went to Xuan Son residential group team and third prize went to Na residential group team.

The teams competed in cutting bananas to feed the fish.

In the food preparation competition, there are 4 teams from Hung Trach commune, Lien Trach commune, Phong Nha town and Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center. The teams will choose to prepare 3 delicious dishes from grass carp, display them at the banquet table, present them and the Organizing Committee will judge and choose the most beautiful and unique dish.

As a result, first prize went to Phong Nha town team, second prize went to Hung Trach commune, and third prize went to Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center.

The Son River Grass Carp Competition in Bo Trach District is a practical activity to create a playground for grass carp farmers in the Son River basin.
