According to the BBC , Fernandes remains committed to Manchester United. Despite the turbulent period when Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick took over as interim managers following the sacking of Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese international believes there is "no reason to leave immediately."
Fernandes' initial plan was to wait until the summer to fully assess the situation, at which point he would have only one year left on his contract with MU. Prior to this, the midfielder had rejected a very lucrative offer from Al Hilal last summer and has continued to receive steady interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League. However, if he leaves Old Trafford, his priority remains playing in Europe.
Fernandes also admitted he felt "hurt" knowing that Manchester United were willing to sell him if they received a suitable offer. The midfielder felt that the club's senior leaders were not straightforward in their communication, especially given that manager Amorim wanted to keep him.
Nevertheless, at the moment, Fernandes remains the spiritual leader and shows no signs of abandoning the turbulent ship at Old Trafford.
Under manager Carrick, Fernandes is believed to still play a crucial role professionally. He is likely to be deployed back in his preferred attacking midfield position in a 4-2-3-1 formation at Old Trafford.
