Bruno Fernandes has overtaken Scholes. |
On November 30th, the Portuguese captain assisted Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount in scoring goals, helping the "Red Devils" come from behind to climb to sixth place in the Premier League standings.
With this achievement, Fernandes not only leads the Premier League assists race this season (5 assists), but also sets a significant personal milestone at Old Trafford. Since joining MU in January 2020, Fernandes has 56 assists in the Premier League, officially surpassing legend Paul Scholes (55 assists).
The Portuguese international is currently among the top four best passers in Manchester United history. The names above him include David Beckham (88 assists) and Wayne Rooney (93). Leading the list is legend Ryan Giggs with 162 assists during his two decades with the "Red Devils".
Fernandes' consistent form and significant influence continue to make him a cornerstone of coach Ruben Amorim's playing style. Despite playing in his preferred left-center midfield position, the Portuguese international still manages to make his mark with crucial assists.
If he maintains his current impressive performance, Fernandes will soon close the gap with Beckham and move closer to the group of the greatest playmakers in Manchester United's history.
