The 20 children being sponsored by club members in this round are orphans who have lost either their father or mother and come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Each child will receive 7 million VND per year, for a period of 3 years, totaling 420 million VND. In addition, the club members acting as "godmothers or fathers" will regularly visit, encourage, and support the children.
A parent can become a godparent for their children.
The children were happy and excited with their godparents.
Tran Thi Anh Linh, an 11th-grade student at Thong Nhat High School, said emotionally: “My mother passed away when I was just over two years old, my father left, and I live with my grandmother and two older brothers. Every day, my two brothers work to support my education. I am grateful to my godparents for helping orphaned children like us.”
The "Godmother - Connecting Love" program, launched by the Vietnam Women's Union, aims to mobilize and connect individuals, units, and organizations to support, care for, and nurture orphaned children in difficult circumstances. With love and responsibility, these "godmothers" will become a strong support system, empowering the children to attend school and giving orphaned and disadvantaged children more confidence and motivation to strive for a better life.
