Bui Xuan Vang won the 2023 Ho Chi Minh City Open 9-ball Women's Billiards Pool Tournament

64 top players from across the country, including many members and former members of the national team such as Huynh Thi Ngoc Huyen, Doan Thi Ngoc Le, Duong Yen Vi, Bui Xuan Vang, Vuong Thu Binh..., participated in the first tournament organized for women, taking place from June 5 to 7 at the Q7 Billiards Club (Tan Phu District).

With the support of many businesses, the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation has initiated another professional tournament for female athletes nationwide, especially in pool events, while creating opportunities for players to compete before the upcoming National Championship in Binh Thuan.

Bui Xuan Vang surpassed many good players

After 3 days of exciting and vibrant competition, the tournament has determined the owners of the prestigious awards. With extremely impressive performance, female player Bui Xuan Vang excellently defeated former player Doan Thi Ngoc Le (Hanoi) in the semi-finals and then won against a strong opponent also from the capital, Duong Yen Vi, in the most anticipated match of the tournament.

With "destructive" form, Xuan Vang led Yen Vi 5-0 and ended the final match with a score of 7-1, winning the championship.

Although she did not win the championship as expected, Duong Yen Vi still had a great tournament when she defeated many senior players such as Vuong Thu Binh or the reigning champion of Ho Chi Minh City 2023 Huynh Thi Ngoc Huyen on the journey to the final match.

The two third-place players, Vuong Thu Binh (HCMC) and Doan Thi Ngoc Le (Hanoi), received 5 million VND in prize money.

With the criteria of talent (at least in the Top 16), attractive playing style and impressive beauty, female billiard player Le Thi Mai Thao (HCMC) received the title "Miss Billiards" and a prize of 2 million VND.

Mai Thao believes that her achievements at the tournament will be the motivation for her to strive to surpass her Top 16 achievement at the 2023 National Championship, which will start on June 8 in Phan Thiet.
