On June 10, Mr. Pham Hong Thai - Director of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park said that the unit has registered to participate in the World Travel Awards 2025 (WTA) with 2 nominations: "Vietnam's leading natural destination in 2025" and "Asia's leading national park".
WTA is considered a prestigious award in the global tourism industry, established in 1993 and known as the "Oscar of the tourism industry". The award is held annually to honor outstanding destinations, service providers and excellent management units in the field of tourism and travel. 2025 is the 31st time the award is held, with an online voting system open until August 31, for tourists and experts and managers in the industry.
According to a representative of the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board, participating in WTA not only contributes to promoting the image of the world natural heritage but is also an opportunity to affirm the position of Quang Binh tourism on the regional and international map.
Phong Nha - Ke Bang is one of the largest and most unique conservation areas in Vietnam, located in Bo Trach and Minh Hoa districts, about 50km from Dong Hoi city. With an area of about 201,000 hectares, it owns hundreds of caves and an endemic ecosystem in the limestone mountains of the North Truong Son. The highlight is the cave system of more than 80km long, of which 20km have been surveyed. Phong Nha - Ke Bang was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage twice, the first time in 2003 with geological and geomorphological criteria and the second time in 2015 with biodiversity criteria.
