In the series of exciting events of the Vietnam Happiness Day 2025 (December 5-7), the area near Ba Kieu Temple suddenly became a destination of interest to many people. Here, the "Happiness Tree" was placed solemnly as a symbol of the good things that each person aspires to.

Amidst the bustling crowd, the “Happiness Tree” is the most popular place to express love. Locals and tourists stop by and slowly write down simple wishes: wishing for good health for their families, for peace and success, or simply hoping for a brighter tomorrow.

Each wish hanging on the tree is like a small leaf, together weaving a garden of emotions, where everyone can find a little peace, a little hope and a very ordinary happiness. From there, happiness is defined differently for each person.

After attending the mass wedding of 80 couples, the family of 4 of Nguyen Manh Tan - Nguyen Thi Thuy (Kien Hung - Hanoi ) and their 2 children Nguyen Phuc An Thai and Nguyen An Tue came together under the "Happiness Tree" to write their wishes.

On her wish leaf, Ms. Thuy wishes for her family to be healthy, safe, for her children to study well, and for the family to be close and strong forever. That is also the small wish of many Vietnamese families with the tradition of valuing family love and putting family happiness above all else.

On her small wish leaf, little An Tue carefully wrote each word: "I wish my family to always be happy, joyful and together forever." Happiness in the eyes of children is simply spending each day happily in the arms of parents and loved ones.

Sitting alone under the "happiness tree," Thanh Hai (22 years old, Hanoi) shared: "Seeing warm families together, I truly admire them and wish to have my own home. But perhaps, what makes me happiest right now is graduating from university with honors and finding a really good job. That's what I wrote on this wish leaf."

On the wishing tree, countless wishes, from small to grand, are recorded, carrying the hopes of each person: "I want to become a comic book artist," "I want to get married next year," "The happiest thing is going out with my mother and friends," "I will become a billionaire"... and many more wishes for the upcoming year 2026.

The "Happiness Tree" also attracted the attention of many foreign tourists. One couple left a message in English: "Our future child, we look forward to meeting you soon!"

Under the shade of the trees, it is not difficult to see the happy smiles of families and groups of friends as they mumble messages from relatives or even strangers. The definition of happiness for each person is different, but they all aim for the best and purest things.

Each leaf, each wish written down is like we are sowing a seed of hope. And as long as there is hope, happiness is always waiting.

And you, if you could make a wish, what would you write on the tree of happiness?

What is happiness to you?
