VHO - Last weekend at Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square (Hanoi), within the framework of "Vietnam Happy Fest 2025", the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired and coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to organize the "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam" 2025 Media Award Ceremony on Human Rights.

Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh; Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung; Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh. Also attending were representatives of leaders of Departments, Ministries, branches; local socio-political organizations; international organizations, embassies of countries in Vietnam.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung and President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists Tran Thi Thu Dong presented the first prize to the author of the photo category.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said that this is the third year the Award has been organized online on the platform of promoting the image of Vietnam, with the goal of encouraging all people in the country, the overseas Vietnamese community and international friends to create photos and videos about the country and people of Vietnam using modern digital tools. After three years of organization, the Award has gone beyond the framework of a traditional photo and video contest to become a national Award, attracting nearly 40,000 entries. Outstanding and typical works have been exhibited in many localities across the country, from Dien Bien Phu of the 70th anniversary of glorious victory, to Hanoi resplendent in the atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of National Day, from dynamic Hai Phong to vibrant and vibrant Ho Chi Minh City.

Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh said that the good news is that not only within the country, the works are also introduced to international friends through exhibitions and cultural events in Sochi (Russian Federation), Bangkok (Thailand), Venezuela, Australia, Sweden and will soon be present in Chile, Hungary, Finland, Brunei... Along with that, 97 Vietnamese diplomatic representative agencies abroad have also included these works in activities to promote the national image, contributing to strongly spreading the message of a peaceful, humane, and unique Vietnam. Returning to this year's award, the Deputy Minister added that after more than four months of launching, the Organizing Committee has received 17,000 photo and video works, an increase of 1.7 times compared to 2024. With a sense of responsibility and fairness, the Jury has selected 36 winning works, along with 150 photos and 29 typical videos to display at the exhibition.

What is special is that the authors come from different professions, different ages, different regions and ethnicities. They use different equipment, from professional to simple. But they all meet at one common point, a passionate love for the Fatherland and a desire to convey the image of a peaceful, beautiful, dynamic and happy Vietnam to the world,” Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh assessed.

“Happy Vietnam” is a media award on human rights in Vietnam organized annually by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The award aims to discover and honor meaningful moments and stories in all aspects of Vietnam's political, economic, cultural and social life through photos and videos submitted by domestic and international authors, vividly affirming the achievements that Vietnam has made in the field of human rights. Thereby promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the world, with the image of a peaceful, beautiful, dynamically developing and happy country.

The award also arouses the spirit of national pride and the desire for development in all classes of people to join hands in building an increasingly prosperous, wealthy and happy Vietnam. At the same time, it also reflects truthfully and vividly the development achievements in all aspects of political, economic, cultural and social life of Vietnam, especially in the process of innovation, development and international integration. According to the Organizing Committee, the works participating this year are quite diverse in genre and theme, focusing on introducing and promoting the image of the country, Vietnamese people, cultural and natural values ​​​​all over the country. At the Award Ceremony, in each category (photo and video), the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 10 Consolation Prizes and 1 prize for the most voted work. In addition, the Organizing Committee encourages and awards a creative prize in each category (photo and video) for works with new ideas, creativity in content and form of expression.

In the photo category, the first prize went to the work Vietnam - The Rising Era by author Pham Ngoc Long Thien. For the video category, the work Happy Smiles by author Luu Minh Khuong won the first prize.
