Thanh Nien newspaper strives to connect generations of readers through inspiring stories.

According to journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan - Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper, the launch of Thanh Nien Bookcase - Thanh Nien Books at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street demonstrates the desire to continue to be a reliable companion through the pages of books, connecting generations of readers with beautiful, truthful stories full of creative inspiration and dedication.

On the morning of December 10th, the launch event of the Youth Book Collection, part of activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first issue of Thanh Nien Newspaper (January 3, 1986 - January 3, 2026), took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street.

The event attracted the participation of many leaders from various agencies and departments, such as Mr. Nguyen Huy Ngoc - Director of Local Affairs Department 3, Mr. Duong Anh Duc - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Mr. Le Van Minh - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Dao Kim Phu - Deputy Chief of the Office of the Vietnam Journalists Association , Mr. Le Hoang - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street… along with the participation of publishers, reading culture ambassadors, and a large number of readers.

Speaking at the event, journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper, said that the book collection is the result of a dedicated process stemming from meaningful programs, outstanding competitions, and prominent activities of Thanh Nien Newspaper. He also hopes that the Thanh Nien Book Collection can contribute to nurturing self-learning abilities and equipping oneself with knowledge to adapt to change; and support the creative ecosystem of authors, editors, translators, designers, publishers, and distributors.

Over the years, Thanh Nien Newspaper has been one of the few newspapers to organize and maintain a special section on "Good Books" in its Saturday print edition, as well as a "Good Books" sub-section within the Culture section of Thanh Nien Online. Here, Thanh Nien Newspaper introduces readers to outstanding books with academic, cultural, or current affairs value. "With the launch of the Thanh Nien Book Collection, Thanh Nien Newspaper hopes to continue being a reliable companion through books, connecting generations of readers with beautiful, authentic stories and rich in creative inspiration and dedication," said journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan.

According to journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan, the effort to build and launch the Youth Book Collection is an activity that embodies both the cultural spirit and the responsibility of Thanh Nien Newspaper in implementing the Party and State's policy on developing reading culture, most recently the Project on developing reading culture in the community until 2020, with a vision to 2030, approved by the Prime Minister (in 2017).

The Youth Book Collection covers a diverse range of topics such as economics , culture, history, education, health, science, journalistic reports, and short stories from specialized sections and columns published in Thanh Nien Newspaper , as well as winning entries from competitions organized by Thanh Nien. In parallel, Thanh Nien Newspaper will organize accompanying activities for the Youth Book Collection, such as book reading festivals, seminars, book sponsorship networking, community fundraising; and events and media coverage for book launches, talk shows with authors, etc.

At the event, the Youth Book Collection introduced five books: *Living Beautifully - The Miracle of Compassion*; *Walking Through Life with Your Child*; *The City I Love*; *A Collection of Excellent Short Stories from Thanh Nien Newspaper*; and *The Aspiration of Vietnam*. Each book not only records stories and characters with life journeys and contributions that touch the heart, but also reflects the milestones in Thanh Nien Newspaper's service to its readers over the past four decades.

Living Beautifully - The Miracle of Compassion: The "Living Beautifully" contest, organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper, has completed five consecutive seasons (from 2021-2025), and the awards ceremony for the fifth season will take place on December 18th. The fifth book in the "Living Beautifully" series , launched on this occasion, continues the solid foundation of love and compassion – not only between people, but also with nature – to build a shared home of compassion.

"Walking Through Life with Your Child": This is also the name of a program initiated by Thanh Nien Newspaper to support orphaned children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic since September 2021. While it's impossible to fully convey the rhythm of life during this painful period until healing, we hope this publication can offer readers an image of a newspaper that always strives for responsibility to the country and the community, reflecting Thanh Nien's motto: Generosity - Kindness - Humanity - Trustworthiness.

My Beloved City: Thanh Nien Newspaper has organized writing competitions about different regions since 2019, such as: Saigon – My Beloved City, Hanoi – My Beloved City, Nostalgia for Central Vietnam, Affectionate about the Mekong Delta, and Spiritedness of the Eastern Region.
