Instead of the usual tense and breathtaking matches, this morning (December 10th), the jujitsu arena at the SEA Games 33 suddenly transformed into a colorful theatrical stage. This is the "specialty" of the jujitsu duo show – where martial arts combine with acting.
Transforming into a zombie, he brought home the first SEA Games medal for Vietnamese sports .
According to athlete Tran Huu Tuan (Vietnam jujitsu team), unlike pure duo events (which focus solely on skill and technique), duo shows require competing teams to develop a specific performance script based on pre-defined technical criteria. Within 2 minutes, the fighters must not only execute precise strikes but also act with full immersion. Judges will score based on both the athletes' technique and acting abilities.
And so, the jujitsu arena became more vibrant than ever!

In particular, two Vietnamese athletes, Phung Thi Hong Ngoc and Nguyen Ngoc Bich, impressed with their performance featuring a unique concept. Inspired by popular zombie films from a decade ago, the two Vietnamese fighters transformed the arena into a scene that was both terrifying and humorous. The stiff, characteristic movements of "the undead" combined smoothly with takedown techniques, eliciting cheers and applause from the audience.
This unique performance earned Hong Ngoc and Ngoc Bich a bronze medal. Even more significantly, this was the first medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.

Besides Vietnam, athletes from other countries also brought equally interesting moments. Spectators felt like they were reliving their childhoods when the Singaporean athletes brought children's games like jump rope and rock-paper-scissors onto the competition floor.
Meanwhile, the host nation Thailand and the Philippines transformed the arena into a "cosplay" festival. A Thai pair brilliantly won the gold medal by dressing up as Santa Claus. Perhaps their impressive wrestling moves, showcasing their "gift-giving" skills, completely captivated the judges. Furthermore, fans of Japanese manga cheered when they saw the "Naruto ninjas" (inspired by Naruto) appear, skillfully demonstrating their jujitsu techniques.

The atmosphere at the jujitsu arena on the morning of December 10th was filled with laughter and relaxation. The lively performances, mixed with the charming humor of the athletes in the duo show, provided the audience with moments of enjoyment. This was considered a gentle "warm-up" before jujitsu returned to the intense, fiery, and highly stressful fighting competition that followed.
In the duo show event, Vietnamese jujitsu won 3 bronze medals, with the following pairs of athletes: Phung Thi Hong Ngoc - Nguyen Ngoc Bich, To Dang Minh - Tran Huu Tuan, and Sai Cong Nguyen - Nguyen Anh Tung.
