The SEA Games basketball schedule is almost entirely wrong regarding the national flag.
The schedule for the 3x3 basketball event at the 33rd SEA Games has once again become the focus of criticism as the organizing committee continues to make mistakes in displaying the national flags of most participating teams. In the information board shown at the 3x3 basketball arena (both men's and women's), the matches between Malaysia and Laos, Philippines and Vietnam, and Thailand and Vietnam all displayed national flags that did not match the country names.
For example, in the second row, the Malaysian flag is replaced with the Thai flag, and the Lao flag with the Indonesian flag; in the third row, the Philippine flag is replaced with the Thai flag, and in both rows 3 and 4, the Vietnamese flag is displayed as the Indonesian flag.

Images quickly spread on social media and in Southeast Asian media, further raising concerns about the quality of the organization of the 33rd SEA Games. The error regarding the national flag is considered particularly sensitive as it directly relates to the symbol of each nation's sovereignty . More importantly, this is not the first time the SEA Games 33 organizing committee has made a mistake in identifying the flag in the early days of the Games.
Major mistakes in the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games.
Previously, the organizing committee had mistakenly used the wrong flags for Vietnam and Laos in the women's futsal schedule, displayed the wrong flag when introducing the host country of the 1997 SEA Games, and most notably, showed a map of Vietnam missing the archipelagos and islands under Vietnam's sovereignty at the opening ceremony on the evening of December 9th.
The repeated instances of incorrect national flag placement have significantly impacted the image of host country Thailand, especially since the SEA Games are an event watched by the entire region. Many believe that allowing such basic errors to occur demonstrates a lack of oversight and professionalism in the technical and media aspects.
