The Hanoi Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board has just reported to the city on several bridge and tunnel projects across the Red River that are included in the planning and are expected to be prepared for investment in 2026.
According to the plan, Hanoi city has a total of 22 bridges and tunnels crossing the Red River, of which 9 have already been constructed. In 2025, the city is implementing 7 bridges and plans to invest in 6 more bridges in the medium term, in addition to updating and supplementing the plan for 6 more bridges.
For projects being proposed for investment and construction, within the scope of Ring Road 4, it is planned to arrange 2 bridges and tunnels according to the planning, outside Ring Road 4, research is being done to invest in Phu Xuyen bridge.
Specifically, the road tunnel across the Red River on Ring Road 2.5 with 2 sections, total investment of about 46,534 billion VND.
In which, the Northern section has the starting point at Park Street, Ciputra urban area (Phu Thuong ward), the end point intersects with National Highway 5 (Vinh Thanh commune), length 5.6km, 2 tunnels with diameter of 15.2m, arranged on 2 floors, 3.5km long, 40m wide, total investment of about 21,930 billion VND.
The southern section starts at Linh Nam Street intersecting with Nguyen Khoi Street, and ends at Ly Thanh Tong Street intersecting with Giap Hai Street (Bat Trang Commune), with a length of 6km, 2 tunnels with a diameter of 15.2m arranged in 2 floors, 3.65km long, 40m wide; total investment of about 24,604 billion VND.
Khuyen Luong Bridge has its starting point at the intersection of Tam Trinh Street and Ring Road 3 (Yen So Ward, Hanoi City), and its end point connects with the project of the cultural heritage and tourism route connecting the Red River (Hung Yen Heritage Road) in Phung Cong Commune (Hung Yen Province).
The route length is 5.715km, of which the bridge length is 5.5km, arranged in 2 15m wide bridge units. The total investment is about 11,484 billion VND.
Phu Xuyen Bridge (on the Cho Ben - Yen My expressway) connects National Highway 1A, Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, Hung Yen - Thai Binh expressway, Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, reducing the load on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway.
The route starts at the intersection with National Highway 1A (Phu Xuyen commune) and ends at the Yen My interchange with the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway (Viet Tien commune, Hung Yen province). The total length of the route is approximately 18.3km, the bridge length is 3km, the width is 35m, and the total investment is approximately 10,000 billion VND.
