Da Nang explodes with New Year Festival 2026

The city announced a five-day series of events featuring a boulevard of lights, a night run, and a range of unique cultural and tourism activities.

The Da Nang New Year Festival 2026 is an annual city-level cultural and tourism event with many new, attractive and unique cultural, artistic, tourism and entertainment activities, taking place over 5 days (from December 30, 2025 - January 3, 2026).

According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this year's Da Nang New Year's Festival includes the following activities: A series of check-in models celebrating the New Year 2026; promoting Da Nang's beach tourism; the Cheer Fest culinary space - connecting joy; a series of art performances; a program to welcome the first flights and trains; and networking activities.

Activities will be held at the East Bank Park of the Dragon Bridge (Tran Hung Dao - Ly Nam De Street area), Bach Dang pedestrian street, Hoi An, Tam Thanh Beach Park, 24/3 Square, and many other locations throughout the city. The festival will kick off with an opening ceremony and vibrant artistic performances at the East Bank Park of the Dragon Bridge (Tran Hung Dao - Ly Nam De area), An Hai Ward, at 7 PM on December 30, 2025.

The highlight of this year's festival is the "Da Nang - Welcoming the New Year 2026" Boulevard, taking place over three nights, from December 30, 2025 to January 1, 2026, on the Bach Dang pedestrian street. The boulevard's space is recreated as a "creative festival axis," where sound, light, and art blend to create a vibrant atmosphere for welcoming the new year.

This year is also the first time Da Nang has organized a large-scale night race with the theme "Light up the Han River - Run to the future". The race will take place from 10pm to midnight on December 31, 2025 with a distance of about 5km, expected to attract 2,000 athletes and a large number of locals and tourists.

Simultaneously, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is connecting large-scale shopping and consumption promotion activities to increase the ripple effect: the Da Nang Year-End Promotion Season 2025 - Mega Sale Year End - Da Nang 2025 program (December 1, 2025 - January 18, 2026); the Da Nang Mega Sale Holiday 2025; the "Trust in Vietnamese Goods - Made in Da Nang" exhibition, etc.

Speaking at a press conference on the afternoon of December 9, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City shared that by 2025, the tourism industry will become a bright spot in the city's socio-economic development process.

Numerous large-scale activities, events, and festivals are organized, contributing to a vibrant and refreshing atmosphere that attracts a large number of domestic and international tourists to Da Nang. Da Nang has become a representative of Vietnam to be included in the "must-visit destination in 2026" list selected by the prestigious American travel magazine AFAR.

According to Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, with a series of attractive and meaningful activities, the Da Nang New Year Festival 2026 is not only a cultural and entertainment activity but also a message about innovation, creativity and the spirit of integration of Da Nang city.

“The 2026 Da Nang New Year Festival not only brings a vibrant and bustling atmosphere during the transition from the old year to the new year, but also contributes to enhancing the experience of tourists, diversifying tourism products, stimulating demand and attracting tourists to Da Nang.

"This will create momentum for the city's tourism industry to continue its strong breakthrough in 2026," said Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi.

At the press conference, the production team of the movie "Let's Go Home" officially announced to city leaders and media partners about the project and its release plan for Lunar New Year 2026.

The film is expected to be the first work to comprehensively showcase the image of "New Da Nang" on the big screen. This event marks a strategic step, positioning the film not only as an entertainment piece but also as a pioneering project in the model of cinema combined with tourist destinations.
