Mr. Hoang Cong Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Hai Ward, said that the investor had finished repairing the sinkhole, paving the road surface and other items. On December 9, Nguyen Cong Tru Street was reopened to traffic.
Previously, at 2:00 p.m. on December 3, a large subsidence occurred, creating a hole about 15 meters long and 5 meters wide on Nguyen Cong Tru Street (near Ngo Quyen intersection, opposite 96 Nguyen Cong Tru).
Approximately 12 meters of an underground drainage culvert measuring 1.8m x 1.6m were broken, causing two cars to fall into it and sustain minor damage. No injuries were reported.
Reporting the cause to the People's Committee of An Hai Ward, Hoa Binh Construction Group Joint Stock Company - the contractor of the Capital Square 3 Urban Area project, said that on the afternoon of December 3, due to prolonged heavy rain, a large amount of rainwater accumulated, causing water and sand from the sewer to overflow into the construction area of the project. As a result, the Nguyen Cong Tru street, the area adjacent to the project, collapsed, creating a large hole, damaging the drainage system.
According to the People's Committee of An Hai Ward, after the incident occurred, the authorities organized to ensure security and order, regulate traffic and block off the area. The investor and contractor inspected and deployed emergency handling measures.

Specifically, for the subsidence area on Nguyen Cong Tru Street, on December 6, the drainage on the sidewalk was completed. By December 7, the investor had completed stabilizing the roadbed and asphalt. Nguyen Cong Tru Street was reopened to traffic.
The two affected cars were repaired by the investor and returned to their owners.
For the area adjacent to Ngo Quyen Street and nearby locations, the investor and construction contractor are reinforcing and securing the foundations of the power poles and traffic light frames, and conducting monitoring, ultrasound, and measurement to track displacement.
The Capital Square 3 Urban Area Project has been granted Construction Permit No. 5/GPXD by the Department of Construction of Da Nang City on February 1, 2024. Up to now, the project has completed the construction of the entire pile part and is constructing the foundation and basement floor of buildings MAT-7, MAT-8, MAT-Đ of the project.
Reporting to the An Hai Ward People's Committee, the investor and relevant units will review and assess the quality of all items; consider optimal construction adjustment plans to ensure safety in the coming period when there is unusual rainfall; and assign technical staff to survey and monitor surrounding areas 24/7 to promptly detect and handle any other occurrences.
