Dai Ninh Hydroelectric Dam adjusts water discharge flow

Dai Ninh Hydropower Company has just issued an urgent notice on adjusting the discharge flow through the spillway of Dai Ninh Hydropower Reservoir, aiming to bring the reservoir water level to the lowest flood level and create flood prevention capacity for downstream.

According to Notice No. 1605/TB-TDNL dated December 9, 2025, from Dai Ninh Hydropower Company, based on the actual hydrological situation and the inter-reservoir operating procedures, the regulated discharge flow through the spillway will be adjusted down from 50 m³/s to approximately 5 m³/s - 50 m³/s. This adjustment will begin at 00:01 on December 10, 2025.

This decision was made to continue implementing the operating regime to bring the lake water level to the lowest flood level of 879m, ready for flood prevention and control work.

At 22:00 on December 9, 2025, the water level of Dai Ninh Lake reached 879.156m (while the normal water level is 880m); water flow into the lake: 77m³/s; machine flow (power generation): 55m³/s; regulated discharge flow through the spillway: 50m³/s.

Dai Ninh Hydropower Company has notified the Civil Defense Command Committees at all levels, local authorities and relevant agencies to coordinate in directing and implementing necessary measures.

The amount of water released through the spillway of Dai Ninh hydropower plant mentioned above is discharged into Dong Nai river, not into Luy river. People living along Luy river should avoid misunderstanding about the scope of influence of this water release adjustment.
