Dai Ninh and Don Duong Hydropower Plants increase discharge through spillways

On the afternoon of November 16, Dai Ninh Hydropower Company (Lam Dong) announced an increase in the regulated discharge through the spillway. At the same time, Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company also announced an increase in the regulated discharge through the spillway of Don Duong reservoir.

Accordingly, at 3:00 p.m. the same day, the water level of Dai Ninh Lake reached 879.766m (normal water level is 880m); inflow to the lake was 62m3/s, machine flow was 55m3/s, and regulated discharge flow through the spillway was 50m3/s (increased from 20m3/s to 50m3/s).

Based on the rain situation in the basin of Dai Ninh Lake, Don Duong Lake and the discharge flow of Don Duong Lake, the Company will increase the regulated discharge flow through the spillway of Dai Ninh Lake from 50m3/s to 100m3/s at 5:00 p.m. the same day.

At the same time, the Company will increase or decrease the discharge volume depending on the rainfall and the inflow into the reservoir and will notify later. The Civil Defense Command at all levels, local authorities and relevant agencies notify the people downstream of the reservoir to proactively take preventive measures.

The company especially notes that the amount of water regulated by Dai Ninh hydroelectric reservoir is discharged into the Dong Nai river, not into the Luy river.

Also on the afternoon of November 16, Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company (DHD Company) announced the increase in regulated discharge through Don Duong spillway.

At 2:00 p.m. the same day, the water level of Don Duong Lake reached 1,039.907m (normal water level 1,042m), the machine flow rate was 36.7m3/s, the flow rate to the lake was 71.2m3/s, and the spillway flow rate was 20m3/s.

Based on the rain situation in the Don Duong lake basin, DHĐ Company will increase the water discharge flow through the Don Duong spillway from 20m3/s to 50m3/s at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon and will adjust the water discharge flow through the spillway depending on the flow to Don Duong lake in the coming hours.

Regarding the weather situation in Lam Dong province, this afternoon (November 16), Lam Dong Provincial Hydrometeorological Station issued a warning of thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and heavy rain in many localities in the province.

Accordingly, analysis of satellite cloud images and weather radar images shows that convective cloud areas exist in the areas of villages and residential groups in communes and wards such as: Xuan Huong - Da Lat; Cam Ly - Da Lat; Lam Vien - Da Lat; Tuy Phong; Xuan Truong - Da Lat; Dinh Trang Thuong; Lang Biang - Da Lat; Ham Tan; Phan Son; Lac Duong; Don Duong; Ka Do; Quang Lap; D'Ran; Ta Nang; Phu Son Lam Ha; Dam Rong 1; Nam Ha Lam Ha; Dam Rong 2; Tien Thanh; Nam Ban Lam Ha; Dam Rong 3; Dam Rong 4; Ham Kiem.

Warning: In the next hours, this convective cloud area will continue to develop, causing rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms in the above areas and expanding to other areas such as: Dak Wil, Di Linh, Vinh Hao, Nam Dong, Lien Huong...
