According to National Geographic, dawn is not only the moment when the first rays of light appear, but also contains historical stories and a peaceful rhythm of life before the streets become bustling and cafes begin to open.
The seven experiences they chose, from cloud-chasing in Vietnam, exploring salt marshes in France, to witnessing the first cheesecakes being baked in Italy, all show a world waking up earlier than we think.

In this list, National Geographic rated the experience of cloud hunting in Da Lat as unique and unmatched: “In the Central Highlands of Vietnam, morning is the time of clouds. Before dawn, visitors climb the mountain slopes about 1,400m high to admire the valleys covered in mist, while the mountain peaks float like islands in the sea of clouds. Locals call it “cloud hunting”, a hobby that combines science and landscape”, National Geographic described.
Mr. Dinh Van Don, owner of Happy Day Travel, shared with National Geographic: "Da Lat's clouds are especially beautiful in the chilly morning weather."
According to the article, this phenomenon only lasts for a short time, when the fog is held in by the cold air of the night and gradually dissipates under the mid-morning sunlight, creating a scene as fragile as the clouds themselves. Once a local secret, cloud hunting has now become a “national pastime” and an indispensable experience for tourists when coming to Da Lat.

The remaining seven sunrise experiences on the list include: Ethiopia: Exploring the volcanoes in the Danakil lowlands; Peru: Learning to use a loom with Quechua weavers; Italy: Witnessing the art of making Parmigiano Reggiano; France: Morning on the salt marshes of Guérande; Portugal: Traditional fishing at dawn in the Azores; India: Morning raga on the Ganges River in Varanasi.
