Bac Ninh: Over 370 billion VND to be invested in the construction of Lang Cha water reservoir (Bien Son commune)

Accordingly, the Lang Cha water reservoir construction project, with a capacity of approximately 1.56 million m³, will be implemented from 2026 to 2029 with a total investment of approximately 374 billion VND from the provincial budget.

The project includes the following components: a dam; a spillway; an intake structure; an administration building; an irrigation water supply system; and several other auxiliary items. The investment project will be implemented in stages, in accordance with current regulations and standards, and the project's objectives.

Upon completion, the project will ensure irrigation capacity and provide water sources for approximately 315 hectares of cultivated land (including 104 hectares of rice paddies and 211 hectares of perennial crop land); and supply drinking water to approximately 9,012 people in Bien Son commune, Bac Ninh province and surrounding areas.

The project also contributes to increasing proactive responses to climate change, addressing flood prevention and mitigation of natural disasters. Simultaneously, it limits flash floods and landslides, prevents erosion during the rainy and stormy seasons, creates landscapes, improves the environment, promotes socio-economic development of the locality, enhances the material and spiritual lives of the people, including a large segment of ethnic minorities, and contributes to political stability and social order.

The Provincial People's Committee assigns the Provincial Project Management Board for Transportation and Agriculture No. 1 to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to survey and prepare a feasibility study report for the project, submitting it to the competent authority for investment decision in accordance with the Law on Public Investment and relevant laws.

The People's Committee of Bien Son commune is organizing and implementing compensation, support, resettlement, and land clearance work in accordance with the law.

The Departments of Agriculture and Environment, Finance, Construction, and other relevant units shall, according to their functions, inspect and guide the investor and advise the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the project in accordance with regulations. The Department of Finance shall take the lead in reviewing the funding sources and the ability to balance capital for implementation in accordance with regulations.
