Yesterday (January 5th), the situation in Group 4 became exciting when the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages - Information Technology team secured an impressive 4-0 victory against the Ho Chi Minh City Open University team. In a spirited performance, Coach Ton Duc Trung's players dominated the game, finishing effectively and settling the score after their loss to the Ho Chi Minh City Open University last year. More importantly, the three points gained in this match opened up an opportunity for the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages - Information Technology team to compete for first place in the group. If they defeat Saigon Technology University in the final match, first place and a ticket to the play-off round will be within their reach. This was something few people expected before the second match.

Yesterday, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology team set a new record with an 8-1 victory over Saigon International University in Group 5.
The fierce race for first place in the group to secure a playoff spot forced teams to give their all in every match and strive to score as many goals as possible to gain an advantage in goal difference. As a result, fans witnessed relentless competition and numerous goals. Thanks to their 8-1 victory against Saigon International University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) now has the same 6 points as Saigon University but ranks higher due to a better goal difference (+11 compared to +6). Therefore, a draw in their final match against their direct competitor, Saigon International University, would secure HCMUT first place in Group 5 and a playoff spot. This group also has a high probability of having two teams with 7 points, in which case the remaining team would have a good chance of advancing as the best-performing second-placed team.

Yesterday, January 5th, at home, the Water Resources University team secured a resounding 5-0 victory against the East Asia University of Technology team. With two consecutive wins, Coach Vu Van Trung's team easily topped Group 1, Table A (Northern regional qualifiers), earning a place in the play-off round.
