Launched on April 18, 2025 in Hanoi , BYD Sealion 6 is a model that marks a strategic step in the journey to expand BYD's product portfolio in Vietnam. Sealion 6 is an SUV using the exclusive DM-i Super Hybrid technology developed by BYD, providing a completely different driving experience: smooth operation like an electric car, outstanding fuel economy, flexible mobility in both urban and highway areas.
Immediately after its launch, the BYD family's C-class SUV model quickly received strong attention and response from Vietnamese customers. After only 3 months, 1,000 pioneering vehicles were delivered - reflecting the market's growing confidence in the BYD brand as well as its globally leading hybrid technology. The fact that customers trust and use the product more and more widely has demonstrated the shift in consumer tastes in the Vietnamese market towards smart, efficient and environmentally friendly products.
BYD Sealion 6 is equipped with a DM-i powertrain with a 1.5L gasoline engine combined with an electric motor and a Blade Battery. The vehicle can travel up to 100 km on pure electricity, with a fuel consumption of only 3.3 liters/100 km. Under actual operating conditions in Vietnam, Sealion 6 can reach a maximum mixed travel distance of up to 1,795.1 km with just one tank of gas (60 liters) and one full charge, showing extremely impressive energy efficiency, useful and increasing convenience and value for users, suitable for both urban travel and long journeys.
In parallel with the successful delivery of 1,000 Sealion 6 vehicles, BYD Vietnam and its strategic partners are also accelerating the development of a nationwide charging station infrastructure system. As of July 2025, the charging station system serving BYD customers has covered more than 29 out of 34 provinces and cities, with a scale of nearly 700 charging ports, including DC fast charging and AC standard charging. The rapid expansion of the charging network not only ensures convenience for Sealion 6 users and other NEV models, but also demonstrates BYD's long-term commitment to accompanying Vietnam in the transition to green transportation.
From the 1,001st car, BYD Vietnam applies the suggested retail price of 839 million VND for the Dynamic version and 936 million VND for the Premium version. This price continues to maintain the strong competitiveness of Sealion 6 in the market, while reflecting the true value that this model brings to users.
At BYD Vietnam, all vehicle models enjoy a standard 6-year vehicle warranty (equivalent to the first 150,000 km, whichever comes first), and an 8-year battery warranty (equivalent to the first 160,000 km, whichever comes first).
