Nationwide, 73.08% of communes meet new rural standards.

(CPV) - By the end of January 2023, 6,001/8,211 communes (73.08%) nationwide had met new rural standards. Of which, 958 communes met advanced new rural standards; 111 communes met model new rural standards. On average, the whole country met 16.9 criteria/commune.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , by the end of 2022, the whole country had 6,009/8,225 communes (73.06%) meeting new rural standards, of which 937 communes met advanced new rural standards and 110 communes met model new rural standards.

By the end of January 2023, 6,001/8,211 communes (73.08%) had met new rural standards. Of which, 958 communes had met advanced new rural standards; 111 communes had met model new rural standards. On average, the whole country achieved 16.9 criteria/commune; 255 district-level units in 58 provinces and cities completed their tasks/met new rural standards (reaching 39.6% of districts nationwide); 18 provinces had 100% of communes meeting new rural standards. The whole country had 8,867 OCOP products with 3 stars or higher, of which 65.9% were 3-star products, 33.2% were 4-star products, 0.7% were potential 5-star products and 20 were 5-star products; with more than 4,586 participating entities.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in the coming time, it will further promote propaganda work, unify awareness, and change people's thinking about implementing new rural construction associated with promoting the development of agricultural and rural economies.

Continue to research, review and complete the legal framework and the system of policies and mechanisms to support the construction of new rural areas; focus on completing the dossier to submit to the Government for approval of the Government's Resolution on the development of agricultural cooperatives in restructuring the agricultural sector and building new rural areas. Effectively implement 6 key thematic programs to improve the quality of life of rural people and solve pressing problems and existing problems in building new rural areas.

In addition, continue to guide localities to implement the OCOP Program and organize the assessment and classification of national OCOP products... ./.
