(CPV) - By the end of January 2023, 6,001 out of 8,211 communes (73.08%) nationwide had met the criteria for new rural development. Of these, 958 communes met the criteria for advanced new rural development; and 111 communes met the criteria for model new rural development. The national average was 16.9 criteria per commune.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , by the end of 2022, 6,009 out of 8,225 communes (73.06%) nationwide had met the standards for new rural areas, including 937 communes that met the standards for advanced new rural areas and 110 communes that met the standards for model new rural areas.
By the end of January 2023, 6,001 out of 8,211 communes (73.08%) had met the criteria for new rural development. Of these, 958 communes met the criteria for advanced new rural development, and 111 communes met the criteria for model new rural development. The national average was 16.9 criteria per commune; 255 district-level units in 58 provinces and cities completed the task/met the new rural development standards (39.6% of the total number of districts nationwide); 18 provinces had 100% of their communes meeting the new rural development standards. Nationwide, 8,867 OCOP products achieved 3 stars or higher, including 65.9% 3-star products, 33.2% 4-star products, 0.7% potential 5-star products, and 20 5-star products; with over 4,586 participating entities.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development stated that in the coming period, it will further strengthen propaganda efforts, unify understanding, and change people's mindset regarding the implementation of the new rural development program, linked with promoting agricultural and rural economic development.
Continue researching, reviewing, and perfecting the legal framework and the system of mechanisms and policies supporting the construction of new rural areas; focus on completing the dossier to submit to the Government for approval of the Government Resolution on the development of agricultural cooperatives in the restructuring of the agricultural sector and the construction of new rural areas. Effectively implement the six key thematic programs aimed at improving the quality of life for rural people and addressing pressing issues and existing problems in the construction of new rural areas.
