On June 13, 1973, after nearly a month of negotiations in Paris, representatives of the four parties involved in signing the Paris Agreement on Vietnam—the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam, the United States, and the Saigon government—signed the Paris Communiqué.

The communiqué consisted of 14 points, focusing on three core issues: implementing an immediate ceasefire, releasing captured prisoners, and guaranteeing democratic freedoms in South Vietnam.
