Domestic coffee prices briefly reached 90,000 VND/kg last week but quickly reversed course and fell towards the end of the week, following global market trends. Meanwhile, Vietnam's export rice prices also decreased slightly to between 405-415 USD/ton, contrary to the upward trend in Thailand and India.
At the end of last week, coffee prices in the Central Highlands region fluctuated between 89,000 and 89,300 VND/kg, a slight decrease of 300-400 VND/kg compared to the previous week.
Specifically, Lam Dong recorded a decrease of 400 VND/kg, bringing the coffee purchase price down to 89,000-89,300 VND/kg. In Gia Lai and Dak Lak , coffee prices both decreased by 300 VND/kg, currently trading at 89,200 VND/kg.
On the world market, coffee prices on both the London and New York international exchanges reversed course and fell sharply. Net selling pressure pushed the prices of the two benchmark coffee commodities down. On the London exchange, the price of Robusta coffee for July 2026 delivery fell sharply by 1.22%, losing $45/ton compared to the previous session, to $3,640/ton.
On the New York exchange, the price of Arabica coffee futures for July 2026 delivery also fell by 0.99%, equivalent to a decrease of 2.75 cents/lb, to 275.10 cents/lb (1 lb = 0.4535 kg).

Regarding the rice market, according to the latest update from the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Environment, prices of various rice varieties remained relatively stable and trading was slow last week. The price of fresh OM 18 and Dai Thom 8 rice currently ranges from 6,200-6,400 VND/kg; OM 5451 from 5,650-5,850 VND/kg; IR 50404 at 5,400-5,500 VND/kg; and OM 34 ranging from 5,500-5,700 VND/kg.
For raw rice, export prices are fluctuating between 8,700-8,800 VND/kg for IR 50404; 9,000-9,100 VND/kg for CL 555; 9,500-9,600 VND/kg for OM 5451; 9,200-9,400 VND/kg for Dai Thom 8; and 7,500-7,600 VND/kg for Soc Thom. The price of finished IR 50404 rice is currently 10,750-10,900 VND/kg.
Regarding exports, on June 18th, the price of Vietnamese 5% broken rice was offered at 405-415 USD/ton, a slight decrease compared to 415-420 USD/ton the previous week.
Meanwhile, asking prices in leading Asian rice-producing countries like India and Thailand tend to edge up due to exchange rate fluctuations and weather concerns.
In India, the price of parboiled rice with 5% broken grains rose this week to $337-342 per ton, compared to $335-340 per ton last week. Meanwhile, suppliers are offering the country's white rice with 5% broken grains at $343-349 per ton.
Thai 5% broken rice is priced at $460-480 per ton, higher than last week's $450-475 per ton. According to traders, stable demand from Malaysia and the Philippines is supporting the continued upward trend in Thai rice prices. Regarding supply, Thai farmers are currently in the rice planting stage, while experts are concerned that the El Niño weather phenomenon will reduce the yield of the off-season crop expected to be harvested in August and September.
Furthermore, the strengthening baht and persistently high domestic prices are making exporters extremely cautious, only purchasing in moderation based on actual demand. A trader in Bangkok commented that the power to determine prices now rests entirely in the hands of mill owners.
