Singer Duc Phuc completely dominated the stage at the Intervision International Music Competition 2025, in the first time this international competition returned after 30 years, and deservedly won first place with a score far exceeding that of the second-place contestant, in a night of competition with 22 contestants from 22 countries around the world .
According to the competition format, each performance could not exceed 3 minutes, and the number of performers on stage could not exceed 6. The performances were interspersed with conversations with the contestants about their happy memories in Moscow. After giving away conical hats as souvenirs, Duc Phuc once again won over the audience by using Russian to talk about the famous Russian specialty – ice cream. The audience understood without needing translation and applauded loudly.
"Phù Đổng Thiên Vương," with its historically rich lyrics, heroic melody interspersed with folk elements and high notes, allowed Đức Phúc to fully showcase the power and pitch of his voice. His outstanding performance, along with the image of "Saint Gióng flying up," left the entire audience silent, only to erupt in a peak of emotion.
According to the scoring rules, judges from one country are not allowed to score contestants from their own country. The score announcement also kept the audience on the edge of their seats with one surprise after another. In the end, Duc Phuc brilliantly won the highest score of 422 points, far ahead of the second-place contestant by 49 points.
At a brief press conference immediately following the competition, Duc Phuc shared his plans to donate a portion of the prize money to charity and dedicate the rest to new compositions.
