On the afternoon of October 27th, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung, the husband of singer Siu Black, informed VietNamNet that the female artist is in critical condition due to kidney failure, accompanied by pericardial and pulmonary effusion. She has been hospitalized for a week and was transferred to Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital this morning for emergency treatment due to her complicated condition.

Currently, Siu Black is being closely monitored in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital. Mr. Hung said that his wife has been unable to eat or drink for the past two days and is experiencing "excessive fluid leakage." Doctors are consulting with each other and applying emergency measures, including aspiration to drain fluid from the pericardium and lungs.
Regarding the cause, Mr. Hung confirmed that this was a severe complication from chronic kidney disease that Siu Black had been receiving treatment for a long time. "She was treated in the emergency room two months ago, but now it has worsened. The doctors had to puncture her to drain all the fluid," he said. Doctors at the hospital said this was a very serious case, requiring maximum effort to save her.
Siu Black, the "mountain forest nightingale" who took the Vietnamese music scene by storm in the 1990s, shared about her health problems related to diabetes and kidney complications in 2024. At the time, she responded to rumors of hospitalization by stating that her health was temporarily stable and she was recuperating in Kon Tum . However, the complications seem to have recurred more severely in recent months.
Siu Black was born on August 27, 1967, in Plengkinia village, Kon Tum town, Kon Tum province. With her powerful, soulful rock voice, Siu Black quickly rose to fame in the 1990s with hit songs such as "Ly ca phe Ban Me," "Va ta da thay mat troi," "Doi mat Pleiku," and "Ngon lua cao nguyen"...
