Fluminense came from behind to crush the South Korean representative, Ulsan Hyundai.

On the morning of June 22nd, Fluminense came from behind to defeat Ulsan Hyundai 4-2, putting one foot in the Round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ and extending Brazil's impressive run of success in the tournament.

To date, all four Brazilian teams participating in the tournament are leading their respective groups after two matches, affirming the strength and potential of Brazilian football on the international stage. On June 21st, Flamengo also caused a shock with a 3-1 victory over Chelsea.

The day before, Botafogo maintained their winning streak after defeating PSG 1-0. Palmeiras, with a 2-0 victory over Al Ahly and a 0-0 draw against Porto in the first matchday, are in a strong position to advance in Group A.

After playing eight group stage matches in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, the Brazilian clubs remain undefeated. They won six, drew two, and kept five clean sheets. Flamengo, Botafogo, Palmeiras, and Fluminense scored a combined 14 goals and conceded only four.

It's not the European teams, but the Brazilian teams that are showing impressive form, leading people to question who can stop them in this tournament?

Brazilian teams capitalize on tactical flexibility and physical fitness suited to the hot summer climate in the US, posing a challenge for European teams, as The Athletic points out. Flamengo coach Filipe Luis revealed: "Coach Enzo Maresca told me that Brazilian teams could win this tournament. They are strong contenders."

This was something few people would have imagined before the tournament began. Clearly, Brazilian club football has always been a world powerhouse. This success also reflects the strength of the Brazilian national league (Brasileirão, also known as Serie A), a league renowned for its toughness and for consistently producing talented players.

The second shock at the FIFA Club World Cup: In the early hours of June 21st, Chelsea lost 1-3 to Flamengo in the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™.
