Ticket vendors said that ticket prices remain the same during holidays as on regular days. Visitors can buy tickets online to avoid long queues. In the first two days of the holiday, the zoo sold more than 10,000 tickets.
Many families brought lots of belongings to the zoo to have fun and camp.
The main entrance to the elephant and giraffe enclosure was packed with onlookers, many choosing to take electric carts for easier transportation during their visit.
Because it was so crowded, many children were carried on their fathers' shoulders to get through the crowd and easily see the animals inside the enclosure.
The children were very excited when they saw elephants, giraffes, and tigers. Besides seeing pictures in books and on TV, this was the first time they had seen these animals in person.
Three-year-old Quynh Anh was thrilled to see a tiger in real life. Her father, Tran Danh, said: "This is the first time she's been to the zoo to see real animals. Before this, she could only see them in pictures and on TV."
The Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden is an amusement park and the oldest zoo in Ho Chi Minh City. It has become a familiar destination for both domestic and international tourists.
As midday approached, the number of people flocking to the area increased, and the internal roads were packed with tourists.
The goat and deer enclosures attract many tourists who come to see, pet, and cuddle the animals. In addition, visitors can buy grass to feed the animals and take photos.
