According to a representative of Vietnam Airlines Group, this is the first ticket sale based on the currently approved flight schedule. The airline will continue to monitor actual market demand, adjust the number of tickets offered, and notify customers promptly. Selling tickets in multiple phases aims to ensure people have enough time to plan and purchase tickets, especially during the Lunar New Year – a time when passenger numbers always surge.
Flights during this peak period focus on "hot" routes, connecting the three major hubs of Hanoi , Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City with provinces and cities such as Hai Phong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hue, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Pleiku, Da Lat, Buon Ma Thuot, and Phu Quoc.
Not only Vietnam Airlines Group, but Vietjet Air has also announced the early sale of up to 2.6 million tickets between January 15th and February 12th, 2025. With an attractive pricing strategy, Vietjet Air offers starting fares from 890,000 VND for flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Nha Trang, and Da Lat, and from 1,790,000 VND for flights to Hanoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, and Hai Phong. Notably, return flights from these provinces to Ho Chi Minh City are priced from 0 VND, helping people save significantly on travel costs.
A representative from Vietjet Air also encouraged passengers to book tickets early to have the opportunity to choose flights that suit their needs at preferential prices, as well as enjoy the convenience of scheduling during the Tet holiday, when travel demand is high.
Opening up Tet holiday ticket sales early not only helps reduce pressure on airlines' ticketing systems but also makes it easier for people to plan their return home and celebrate a complete Tet reunion with their families.
