After a period of care, the flower gardens in Ha Tinh province , intended for the Lunar New Year, have now bloomed, displaying their vibrant colors and promising a bountiful harvest for the local farmers.
With an area of nearly 700 square meters , the yellow chrysanthemum garden of Mr. Nguyen Tuong Que (Dong Quy residential area, Thach Quy ward, Ha Tinh city) has begun to bloom at this time.
Mr. Que said: "This year's flower season has been quite favorable due to the weather, coupled with systematic care techniques, so our family's chrysanthemum garden has bloomed just in time for Tet. With 14,000 plants meeting the requirements, we expect to earn about 50 million VND for my family this Tet after deducting expenses."
Besides the flowers pre-ordered by customers, the remaining flowers will be taken by Mr. and Mrs. Que to the flower and ornamental plant selling area on Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street (Ha Tinh City) to sell from the 22nd day of the 12th lunar month.
At Mr. Mai Trong Thoi's flower garden (Quan Nam village, Hong Loc commune, Loc Ha district), 50,000 chrysanthemum plants grown in greenhouses have bloomed brilliantly.
Mr. Thoi's chrysanthemum garden was planted three months ago, using seedlings brought from Da Lat. Thanks to the experience and flower cultivation techniques accumulated over many seasons, this year Mr. Thoi managed to get his chrysanthemums to bloom at the right time.
Thanks to the drip irrigation system and proper cultivation techniques, even though grown on sandy soil at the foot of Hong Linh mountain, Mr. Thoi's chrysanthemum garden has shown outstanding growth. The plants are about 80 cm tall, and the flowers are large enough to meet the standards of those grown in Da Lat with the same variety.
Besides yellow chrysanthemums, there are also white chrysanthemums.
Also in Quan Nam village, this year the family of Ms. Le Thi Hien planted 80,000 flower plants of various types such as: diamond chrysanthemums, crystal chrysanthemums, pompom chrysanthemums, lilies, etc.
By this time, in addition to chrysanthemums, 250 lily plants from Ms. Le Thi Hien's family have been ordered by customers. Ms. Hien said: "Besides supplying wholesale to traders, we also sell flowers directly from the garden to individual customers. With 80,000 plants of various types, my family estimates that we will earn approximately 120 million VND after deducting expenses this Tet season."
At this time of year, many people have come to the flower gardens to choose and buy flowers to decorate their homes for Tet (Lunar New Year).

Along with Ha Tinh City and Loc Ha, these days, flower gardens in Can Loc, Nghi Xuan, Thach Ha... have also begun to bloom, and farmers have started harvesting to serve the Kitchen God Festival and the Lunar New Year 2024.
