The Chief of Police of Bai Chay Ward has been dismissed.

The Director of the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department has just signed a decision to dismiss the head of the Bai Chay Ward Police Station (Ha Long City) and transfer Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nam to another position.

According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Police, the decision is consistent with the nature and severity of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nam's misconduct. Furthermore, the Quang Ninh Provincial Police also informed the entire provincial police force about Lieutenant Colonel Nam's misconduct, as well as the Provincial Police Party Committee's views and decisions regarding disciplinary action, in order to learn from this experience throughout the force.

Previously, immediately after verifying the authenticity of the video posted on social media on the evening of May 17th depicting the inappropriate behavior of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nam, the Quang Ninh Provincial Police issued a decision to temporarily suspend Lieutenant Colonel Nam from duty to carry out the process of reviewing and handling disciplinary actions for the violation in accordance with regulations.

Regarding the incident, based on the report from the Party Committee of Bai Chay Ward, on May 22nd, the Inspection Committee of the Ha Long City Party Committee also held a meeting and unanimously voted to impose a Party disciplinary warning on Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, member of the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee, Secretary of the Party branch, and Head of the Bai Chay Ward Police.
