Dismissal from Party positions of Le Duc Tho and Trinh Van Chien.

The Central Committee of the Party decided to discipline Mr. Le Duc Tho, Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, and Mr. Trinh Van Chien, former Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, by dismissing them from all their positions within the Party.

The eighth plenary session of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam opened on the morning of October 2nd in Hanoi .

In the morning, the Central Committee of the Party held a meeting in the meeting hall.

Before commencing the Conference, the Central Committee of the Party observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims who tragically lost their lives due to recent natural disasters and fires, and of the recently deceased Central Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong presided over and delivered the opening speech at the Conference.

Politburo member and President Vo Van Thuong chaired the meeting on behalf of the Politburo.

Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Member of the Secretariat, and Head of the Central Organization Department, on behalf of the Political Bureau, reported on the Program of the 8th Conference of the Central Committee of the 13th Party Congress.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam decided to impose disciplinary action, dismissing from all Party positions Mr. Le Duc Tho - Member of the Central Committee, Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, and Mr. Trinh Van Chien - former Member of the Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Secretary of the Party Group, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, former Secretary of the Party Committee, and former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province.

The Central Committee of the Party has voted unanimously to relieve Mr. Dieu K're, a member of the Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee, from his position as a member of the 13th Central Committee.

In the afternoon, the Central Committee of the Party worked in discussion groups on the socio-economic situation, the state budget for 2023, the plan for 2024, the three-year state financial and budget plan for 2024-2026, and the roadmap for implementing the new salary system.
