How EIS builds its 'educational village' model.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the European International School (EIS) creates an environmentally friendly learning space and offers a multicultural curriculum, aiming to help students become global citizens.

EIS is located at 730 FGK Le Van Mien Street, Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City, within a lush green villa complex and is built in the style of an " educational village". The school provides a friendly and welcoming space, maintaining a strong connection between people and nature.

"However, the 'educational village' refers not only to the physical space but also to the teaching philosophy at EIS," the school representative emphasized. Thanks to maintaining small class sizes, each student receives individual attention from teachers, thus having the opportunity to develop their personal qualities and become well-rounded global citizens.

According to Jo Roberts, Acting Principal of the European International School, to educate students to become global citizens, the school creates an environment that helps them develop sustainable living habits and demonstrate respect for the environment and others.

"Global citizenship is a core value in the school's educational philosophy. Accordingly, EIS students are encouraged to make meaningful contributions to their local and broader communities, demonstrating multicultural understanding, social responsibility, and promoting equity," she added.

At EIS, teachers and parents collaborate closely in academic activities, extracurricular programs, and experiential learning for students. To create a modern "educational village," the school is equipped with many new facilities such as a science research lab, a creative project room, a 25-meter saltwater swimming pool, and green spaces to allow students to connect with nature.

Kim Han Bin, a former EIS student from the 2017 graduating class, shared that he had many wonderful learning experiences at the school. He met some of the best friends and the best teachers there.

"I always feel very comfortable, like I'm at home, when I come to school. Here, I learn the value of good time management and develop independent learning skills," Han Bin added.

These are the skills EIS equips students with when building an "educational village," helping them become global citizens. According to school leaders, the concept of global citizenship education is promoted by educational organizations in many countries, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to contribute positively to building a just, sustainable, and peaceful world . As a result, students can understand world issues, while also being open to cultural diversity and developing essential skills such as multidimensional thinking and collaboration.

Currently, EIS offers the complete International Baccalaureate (IB) education program for students aged 2 to 18. This program is widely accepted worldwide, particularly in the US and European countries, aiming to develop knowledge and social skills, equipping students with the ability to adapt to a globalized environment.

In addition to the regular curriculum, during Vietnamese and international festivals such as Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas, etc., the school organizes many cultural activities, field trips, and excursions. Through these activities, students connect with and gain a deeper understanding of the beauty of cultures from around the world.

Furthermore, EIS currently serves as a learning environment for students from over 40 countries. In this culturally diverse setting, students learn how to interact, communicate, and collaborate with peers from around the world. "This is essential for becoming global citizens in the future. In fact, many EIS students are succeeding at top universities worldwide," a school representative affirmed.

On March 15th and 29th, EIS will be holding an Information Day for parents to learn about the school's facilities, curriculum, and admissions information for the 2024 school year. At the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to receive scholarships upon enrollment. Scholarships are worth up to 1.5 billion VND.
