However, if there is proactive screening, early recognition of symptoms and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, cancer can be completely prevented or successfully treated, according to Hindustan Times (India).

Chandrashekhar Prasad Singh, an oncologist at HCG Abdur Razzaque Ansari Cancer Hospital (India), said that early health care can fight this disease.

The importance of early cancer detection

According to Mr. Singh, detecting cancer at an early stage will increase the chance of cure and prolong the patient's life.

He stressed that regular health check-ups and paying attention to unusual changes in the body are important first steps.

Screening tests such as mammograms, Pap smears, colonoscopies, or low-dose CT scans to detect lung cancer help identify the disease even when the patient has no obvious symptoms.

In addition, self-examination of the body is also very necessary. Each person should pay attention to signs such as the appearance of strange tumors, rapid weight loss without clear cause, prolonged cough, feeling of constant fatigue, unusual changes in the skin or moles. When these symptoms appear, going to the doctor for examination will help diagnose and treat early.

Warning signs

According to doctors, there are some common symptoms often related to cancer that people should not ignore.

These include the appearance of a lump anywhere on the body, unusual bleeding or bruising, difficulty swallowing or persistent indigestion, sores in the mouth or on the skin that take a long time to heal, changes in bowel habits, and persistent pain with no apparent cause.

Early recognition of these signs will open up the opportunity for accurate diagnosis and timely treatment, preventing the disease from progressing.

How to prevent disease

Dr Singh said that avoiding tobacco use in any form is the most important step as tobacco is a factor in causing a large proportion of cancer cases. He also recommended that people limit their alcohol intake to protect their bodies.

A reasonable diet plays an important role in reducing the risk of disease. Accordingly, the daily menu should prioritize fruits, green vegetables and whole grains.

Maintaining a healthy weight will also help reduce the burden on the body and allow the immune system to function more effectively.

In addition, regular physical activity not only improves overall health but also helps reduce the risk of many types of cancer.

As for skin protection, Dr. Singh recommends that everyone should apply sunscreen when going out and avoid prolonged exposure to strong sunlight to prevent skin cancer.

Mr Singh also said that some vaccines such as HPV and hepatitis B have proven effective in reducing the risk of certain cancers.
