Playing at home, Selangor started confidently, proactively pushing their formation forward and constantly applying pressure with fast-paced attacks down both flanks. From the very first minutes, the CAHN defense had to work hard to cope with the quick transitions and mobility of the Malaysian team.
Despite creating numerous dangerous opportunities, Selangor failed to capitalize on their advantage in the first half, with shots from Alvin Fortes, Chrigor Moraes, and Hugo Boumous all lacking accuracy. Conversely, CAHN also had a few notable counter-attacks, but shots from Alan, Vitao, and Quang Hai were not sharp enough to make a difference.
In the second half, CAHN played more proactively and tried to regain control of the game. However, before the visitors could create a turning point, Selangor showed their effectiveness. In the 60th minute, after a shot was blocked, Faisal Halim pounced on the rebound and scored the opening goal for the home team. Just 9 minutes later, the midfielder continued to shine with a decisive shot from outside the penalty area, beating Nguyen Filip.
In the final minutes, CAHN pushed forward in search of a goal to narrow the gap. Phan Van Duc, Leo Artur, and Van Do all had opportunities, but the solidity of Selangor's defense and the consistent performance of goalkeeper Kalamullah Al Hafiz rendered all of the Vietnamese team's efforts futile.
In the end, CAHN accepted a 0-2 defeat, while Selangor solidified their top spot in Group A with a convincing home performance. Meanwhile, CAHN is ranked 4th with 4 points after 4 matches played.
