* Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van:

To combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, the province has implemented sustainable fishing models and strictly controlled inshore and offshore fishing vessels. Border guards and local authorities have been directed to increase patrols, inspections and strictly handle violations, and assign responsibility to heads of units in combating IUU fishing.

Along with control, the province encourages exploitation and farming models associated with conservation, while supporting fishermen with policies and science and technology, creating conditions for people to feel secure in sticking to the sea. Enterprises are encouraged to invest and develop green sea tourism. When all parties join hands, the sea will not only be green today but also green for many future generations.

To have a blue sea, abundant aquatic resources and a sustainable marine economy , the synchronous participation of both management agencies and people is needed. The province identifies this as not only the task of the State but also the responsibility of the whole community and each fisherman.

* Secretary of Song Cau Ward Party Committee Nguyen Cong Hoan:

Song Cau Ward focuses resources on effectively implementing the Master Plan for aquaculture development in the province for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030. Currently, the locality has completed the counting of the number of aquaculture cages and rafts and fishing vessels. The ward also established the Song Cau Lobster Comprehensive Service Fisheries Cooperative and 79 aquaculture community management teams...; moving towards rearranging aquaculture cages and rafts in the area according to the plan. The locality strives to reduce the rate of lobster and marine fish cages to 43,000 cages by 2030, with an area of 700 hectares.

At the same time, promote propaganda and mobilize people to participate in waste collection services (domestic waste and marine waste) to raise awareness and consciousness of each person in environmental protection. Effectively implement the collection and treatment of aquaculture waste. Strive to collect 95% of domestic solid waste by 2030; build a waste collection model in aquaculture areas...

*Fisherman Pham Thien in Tuy An Dong commune:

I have formed a habit of not throwing away water bottles or torn nets into the sea on every trip, but instead collecting them in one place on the boat to bring to the garbage collection point on the shore when I return. During the fishing process, if I see garbage floating on the sea, I also pick it up on the boat and bring it back to shore. Not only that, I also remind my crew and other boats to do the same.

We also strictly follow the instructions of the authorities on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing to join hands with the State to protect fishing grounds and enrich aquatic resources.
