Harvesting mandarin oranges in a household's orchard in Truong Long commune, Can Tho city.
(CT) - The price of mandarin oranges in many localities in the Mekong Delta has increased by 3,000-6,000 VND/kg compared to more than a month ago. Currently, large mandarin oranges (3-6 fruits/kg) are being purchased by wholesalers at 8,000-10,000 VND/kg; mandarin oranges (7-10 fruits/kg) are priced at 5,000-7,000 VND/kg; and small oranges at 3,000-4,000 VND/kg… The price increase is due to high demand during the hot season. The supply of mandarin oranges in many localities has also decreased because the price of mandarin oranges was too low in the past, with no market outlet. Many households have cut down their mandarin trees or not invested in proper care, leading to a decrease in orange production.
