According to the proposed consolidation and streamlining of the provincial organizational structure, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will merge with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Mr. Tran Nhu Long, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, stated: Immediately upon receiving instructions from the Provincial Steering Committee on summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, the leadership of the two units held open and democratic meetings; based on the organizational structure and staffing levels, they agreed on a merger plan to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration.

The new unit is expected to be named the Department of Agriculture and Environment, with 20 departments and units (a reduction of 13 units compared to before the merger). The reorganized structure will include 7 specialized professional departments, 7 subordinate sub-departments, 5 public service units, and 1 financial organization. The review and reorganization process will ensure a scientific approach; each department and unit will have its own functions and responsibilities, avoiding overlap; capable officials and employees will be valued and given opportunities to utilize their expertise after the merger of the two units.

"In practice, there are tasks that overlap between the two departments, and close coordination is necessary to resolve any procedure for the people. With the merger, people only need to go to one agency to have everything handled, from submitting the application to receiving the results. I find the arrangement relatively streamlined, reducing the number of agencies by about 37%," said Mr. Tran Nhu Long, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

Officials and civil servants will continue to strive to constantly improve their professional skills, expertise, and public service ethics, and fulfill their assigned tasks well, both before and after the merger.
