Canada vs Qatar result: A resounding victory, but at a high price.
Canada achieved a memorable milestone by winning their first-ever World Cup victory with a resounding 6-0 thrashing of Qatar. Jesse Marsch's team completely dominated their opponents, while the Asian side finished the match with only nine players.

From the start of the match, Canada played a high-pressure game, constantly pressing and putting pressure on their opponents. Jonathan David was at the center of every dangerous attack. After his volley was saved by goalkeeper Mahmud Abunada, Cyle Larin quickly followed up with a shot to open the scoring in the 15th minute. A few minutes later, David himself scored a beautiful volley from outside the penalty area to double the lead.
In the 30th minute, Tajon Buchanan was fouled while running through a one-on-one situation. After reviewing the footage, the referee determined the foul occurred outside the penalty area but still issued a direct red card to Homad Al Amin for preventing a clear scoring opportunity. Before halftime, David completed his brace to end the first half with a 3-0 lead for Canada.

After the break, Qatar suffered another setback when Assim Madibo received a red card for a tackle that severely injured Ismaël Koné, who was stretchered off the field with suspected broken leg. However, Nathan Saliba – who replaced Koné – quickly made his mark with a stunning free-kick to extend the lead to 4-0.
Despite dominating both in terms of numbers and skill, Canada scored their fifth goal thanks to an own goal by Mohammad Al Mannai. In injury time, Jonathan David completed his hat-trick with a decisive finish, sealing a 6-0 victory and putting Canada well on track to advance to the knockout round.
