As part of General Secretary To Lam's state visit to South Korea, the Vietnam-Korea Economic Forum was held in Seoul on August 12th, bringing together high-ranking leaders from both countries and over 400 businesses.

General Secretary To Lam and South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min Seok witnessed businesses signing cooperation agreements at the Vietnam-Korea Economic Forum.

At the event, Phu My Investment Group Joint Stock Company and Eric C&C Company (Korea) signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop automated port systems, smart logistics solutions, and digital infrastructure for Phu My Port.

This is a Class I deep-water port, capable of receiving ships with a tonnage of up to 150,000 tons, positioned as the nucleus for promoting the formation of Gia Lai's industrial-port city. Phu My Port not only serves the province's import and export of goods but also plays a role as a gateway for international trade, connecting the South Central and Central Highlands regions with major markets.

In addition, Viet Phuc Co., Ltd. and Midas Holding Co., Ltd. also signed a cooperation agreement to develop a fruit preservation system, agricultural product processing facilities, a cold chain logistics system, and expand cooperation in the agricultural value chain.

These projects are significant in supporting Phu My Port by forming a synchronized supply chain, from production and processing to export, applying high technology and international standards.

Following up on investment promotion activities in South Korea, on August 13th, the Gia Lai Provincial Investment Promotion Delegation held a meeting with the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

BCCI Chairman Yang Jae Sang affirmed that Phu My Port has the potential to become a strategic connection point with Busan Port – one of the world's largest ports. He stated that BCCI will act as a bridge between Gia Lai and Korean businesses in the fields of seaports, logistics, international trade, and industrial infrastructure.

"The establishment of a direct shipping route between Busan and Phu My is expected to shorten delivery times, reduce logistics costs, and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese export goods," the Chairman of BCCI affirmed.

BCCI is known as a leading economic organization in South Korea with thousands of members, particularly interested in investing in and developing projects related to Phu My Port. With experience and strong financial resources, BCCI member businesses can participate in many stages, from port infrastructure construction and logistics services to cooperation in international trade and maritime transport.

Sharing with BCCI businesses, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, said that Phu My Port and Phu My Industrial Park, covering more than 820 hectares, will be a "strategic pair" to promote the development of industry, renewable energy, and high-quality logistics services.

"This is one of Gia Lai's key projects aimed at exploiting its geographical advantages, transportation infrastructure, and inter-regional connectivity, while attracting large-scale investment from domestic and foreign corporations," the Vice Chairman of Gia Lai province expressed his expectations.

With strong interest from Korean partners and a clear development orientation from the province, Phu My Port is facing a golden opportunity to break through, becoming a bright spot for international cooperation in Gia Lai and a driving force for socio-economic growth in the region.

Reportedly, as part of their working visit, the Gia Lai provincial investment promotion delegation will continue working with the Korea Marine Development Corporation (KOBC) and Busan Port to promote strategic cooperation opportunities.
